Such a serenity could be found nowhere else rather than an oasis laid down exactly at the center of Iran, on the edge of the desert, and the foothills of the central mounts of Shirkooh. Isatis was a good name to describe it, exactly as well as Yazd, that we call it nowadays.
Yazd, the city of Yazdan the great God, a perfect example of respecting nature, the oldest alive city around the world having the flames of the oldest sacred fire of Zoroastrians flaring for 1550 years, could be one of the most mysterious places you will enjoy getting yourself lost in its narrow streets of the old town, with its thatch made wind towers and turquoise domes.
Towers of silence, The Zoroastrian fire temple having that famous ancient fire in its heart, Kabir Jami mosque with its fantastic faience mosaic, Dowlat Abad garden with its unique wind catching tower, and Amir Chakhmaq complex around the picturesque square are only some names for the most highlighted monuments and you can’t find out about the real beauties of the city while you have not visited that.
As one of the most interesting places in Yazd, The water museum, could amaze you. The museum is showing you one of the most complicated sustainable development of the cities. You see that Yazd has grown like a city which is located beside a great river while it is exactly in the middle of the desert. The way they were bringing the water to the city with Qanats is shown in the museum and the order of watering different places of the city, is fascinating.
